Getting your teeth professionally cleaned is a key part of good dental hygiene. That makes the role of dental hygienists among the most important within a dental practice.
To formally recognize the hard work put in by these specialists, the American Dental Association has designated the 2nd week of April as Dental Hygienists Week. At Chicago Beautiful Smiles, we would also like to recognize our amazing hygienists that thoroughly clean and prepare our client’s teeth.
Meet The Dental Hygienists Of Chicago Beautiful Smiles
Our practice has two dental hygienists that have worked with us since the mid-2010s. Jenny and Aria entered this specialty because of their passion for helping others maintain beautiful and healthy smiles.
Like the rest of our staff within Chicago Beautiful Smiles, our dental hygienists always take a careful approach toward cleaning a client’s teeth. From chipping away at plaque buildup before an exam to preparing the teeth before dental implants, a dental hygienist plays a key role in keeping your smile clean, healthy, and well during your appointment. Here are just a few examples that emphasize the importance of dental hygienists within a dental office:
- They’re usually the first person to detect signs of cavities, gum disease, and other potential dental problems. While they cannot make the official diagnosis while cleaning your teeth, they can alert both the patient and the dentist of this, so solutions can be brought forward.
- Seeing a dental hygienist once every six months can also have lasting impacts on your overall health. The mouth is connected to several important organs including the lungs, heart, stomach and brain. Sometimes dental problems that are detected during a routine cleaning can be early indications of another health problem occurring throughout the body.
- One of the best ways to boost a person’s confidence is to help them have a bright and beautiful smile. A thorough cleaning by your dental hygienists can help your teeth look as good as new through buffering and plaque removal. Hygienists want clients to love the way their smile looks too.
Grateful doesn’t even begin to describe how we feel about having Jenny and Aria on our team at Chicago Beautiful Smiles. We are incredibly thankful for all of the work they do and for the empathy and compassion, they show when cleaning each client’s teeth.
