Invisalign is a procedure that uses clear aligners to gently move your teeth without the need for metal brackets and wires. Up to 85 percent of adults are suitable candidates for this procedure. This new type of braces is easy to use and can produce the desired results in as few as six months. Are you looking for a straighter smile without the need for traditional metal braces? Invisalign may be the right solution.

What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a subtle way to get the straighter teeth you’ve always wanted. The clear plastic aligners are almost impossible to see, can be removed, and straighten teeth quicker than the older metal braces could.
Invisalign vs. Traditional Braces
Unlike traditional metal braces, you don’t have to put your life on hold with Invisalign. You can enjoy:
- Easy cleaning with removable aligners
- An invisible solution
- No restrictions on eating and drinking
- Normal brushing and flossing
Crooked and misaligned teeth are a common issue among roughly 74 percent of American adults.
Fortunately, for those suffering from these issues, methods have drastically changed over the years. Gone are the times of hiding your smile or having to wear unsightly metal braces for numerous years. Your teeth no longer have to be something that causes you to feel uncomfortable. Now you can face the world with a new, perfectly aligned smile.
Top-of-the-Line Tooth Alignment
With the amazing addition of Invisalign to the dental profession, patients who suffer from misaligned teeth now have the chance to experience the world with a perfect smile. Here are a few facts about Invisalign to help you on your way to deciding if it is right for you:
- Say goodbye to metal. Invisalign offers an almost invisible plastic aligner to be placed into your mouth, fitting snugly over your teeth. These aligners painlessly align your teeth and are changed every two weeks to coincide with the changes in your smile.
- Invisalign has been successful in many cases of treating even the most severe orthodontic cases.
- The Invisalign aligners are not permanent. The aligners can be removed, allowing you to eat, brush and floss freely.
- Invisalign patients often find themselves aligner free within nine to 15 months, depending on their personal situation.
A New Age in Technology
Everyone at Chicago Beautiful Smiles will do everything in our power to make your office visit a comfortable and pleasant experience. During your initial consultation, Dr. Ching will examine your teeth and discuss your potential treatment options. If you and Dr. Ching decide that Invisalign is a good option for your needs, a digital impression of your teeth will be created and sent to Invisalign®’s headquarters so its experts can design a series of customized teeth aligners. Each set of clear, plastic aligners is slightly modified from the one before it. You will wear one set for two weeks, then discard it for the next in the series. This allows for a gradual, progressive movement of your teeth into a more desirable position.
Patients usually receive 18 to 30 aligners, depending on the extent of treatment required for the best results. Although Invisalign® teeth aligners are removable, we advise patients to make sure they are kept in place for at least 20 to 22 hours of total treatment time every day. Dr. Ching will monitor your progress over the course of your treatment and give you a retainer to wear after you have finished the Invisalign® process so that your teeth’s new, straighter position remains stable.
Invisalign® has helped people all over the world straighten their teeth and renew their smiles. Dr. Ching is proud to offer this state-of-the-art, discreet orthodontic treatment right here at Chicago Beautiful Smiles!
