Here at Chicago Beautiful Smiles, our goal is to provide our patients with the best services in oral health, while also offering the most advanced methods of preventive and cosmetic dentistry. We understand that you may not feel confident sharing your smile with others. This is why we are pleased to offer procedures in cosmetic dentistry, such as dental veneers, to help our patients find the smiles they’ve always dreamed of having.
Veneers can correct gaps, chipped, discolored or worn teeth. There are two materials available for veneering teeth for cosmetic improvements of our patients’ smiles – Porcelain and Composite. Most patients are familiar with our Porcelain veneering option, but few people realize that cosmetic veneering of teeth is possible with composite resin. Both materials have their advantages – at Chicago Beautiful Smiles; we utilize the material that is best suited for each individual patient. Read below to get a better understanding of each of the treatment options.
Composite Veneers
Composite veneers, or ‘Free-hand Bonded Veneers’ are an incredible option for patients who desire minimally invasive cosmetic dental procedures. This option is completed while the patient is in the dental chair – there are no impressions necessary and, there is no laboratory component. These veneers are strong and provide patients with a secure, long-lasting option.
Drs., Hartlieb, and Ching are experts at combining the artistic skills with the science of the materials available to create life-like veneers that are completed in one visit. And often times, these veneers can be created without any drilling of the patient’s natural teeth! Unlike porcelain veneers (that are created in a dental laboratory), Drs. Hartlieb, and Ching have complete control of the color, length, translucency and contour of the restorations. Input from our patients allows us to create veneers that are individualized for each patient, so each person has their unique, and personalized smile.
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers also provide a comfortable, great looking solution for patients who are seeking a cosmetic improvement to their smile. These veneers are made from thin porcelain that is incredibly strong, yet can be extremely thin, so they are bonded to your natural teeth without being evident. With the use of porcelain, we can salvage more of your tooth and strengthen your tooth’s structure for a healthy smile. This form of dental veneers is quickly becoming one of the more popular options available in cosmetic dentistry.
Porcelain veneers are custom-built, thin shells of ceramic material that are placed over the surface of the teeth to correct things such as discoloration, uneven spacing, and alignment or to repair cracked or chipped teeth. When properly fitted and placed, you will not be able to tell them from your natural teeth. This option is recommended for our patients that tend to build heavy stains on their teeth, or who are very rough on their teeth, where the added strength of porcelain may be beneficial.
At Chicago Beautiful Smiles, we will help you choose the form of dental veneers that is best-suited for you. Our team of experts will walk you through the process, explain your options and inform you of what you have to gain. Our techniques will erase the years of wear-and-tear your teeth have gone through and give you a new, even, properly colored smile you will love. No longer is it necessary to live your life with teeth you aren’t proud of. We are here to help in any way we can and vow to assist you in smiling brightly once again.
